Red Bird Mission
A witness for Christ in the heart of Appalachia since 1921. This United Methodist Church Mission has five general areas of ministry:
- Education
- Health Services

- Community Outreach
- Retail Operations
- Work Camp
Each of these areas can be subdivided into more specific tasks and programs such as these for Community Outreach:
- Community Ministries (Clothing Assistance, Adult Education, Emergency Support Services)
- Senior Citizen Ministries (Elderly/Low Income Housing, Meals on Wheels, Home Care, Senior Citizens Center)
- Family Ministries (MIHOW- Women & Children Ministries, SHARE, Christmas Assistance)
In cooperation with churches in Limestone County, Asbury assists all of the various mission areas through our donations. This is a growing mission thanks to the many people who regularly assist in the various efforts required, the support provided by the Asbury Thrift Store, and the imagination and generosity from personnel and some businesses in our area. We can do even more!
Donations
Donations should be placed on the porch of the storage shed in the Northeast corner of the Church's property. Please put in sturdy boxes or sacks and limit to 20 pounds or less per package.
What can they use? Anything. The only things that we have been asked to not bring are magazines and old school text books. Because of the many areas of their missions good useable items of any type can be put to use.
Need a receipt? Place your name and address on the boxes or sacks you donate.
All names are turned in to the Redbird mission each time a trip is made and shortly thereafter you should receive a thank you note from them.

Campbells Soup Can Labels
The Redbird Mission is the largest user of these coupons anywhere. Place your labels in the envelope on the bulletin board between the Sanctuary and the Church Office.
Support
Redbird support efforts are a year-round effort. If you have some time, we can use you. Support includes moving items from the collection points and the Thrift Store to our storage areas, assisting in loading vehicles for trips to Redbird, going on the trips, assisting in coordination, and passing on the information about Redbird.
