Habitat for Humanity
History
Asbury UMC participates in the construction of at least one Habitat home in Madison County each year. Asbury works in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity of Madison County and other area churches to completely fund and construct a home for a deserving family. 2005 marked Asbury’s 11th home in Madison County.
Funding
Asbury’s Habitat ministry is funded through a number of efforts, the most significant of which has been the recording and production of albums featuring Asbury UMC talents. The Habitat ministry has funded as charitable projects four albums, the most recent of which is House of Praise, a CD featuring five of Asbury’s finest praise bands.
Schedule
Projects normally begin in late February and work each Saturday through May.
Volunteering
To volunteer to work, simply send an email to habitat@asburyumc.ws indicating your desire to be added to the email distribution list. Projects are managed through email correspondence – once on the list you’ll be made aware of volunteer opportunities once the project has kicked off for the year.
