Because First Impressions are Lasting Ones!

Within the first 7 seconds a guest will form 11 impressions!  They will make 3 decisions:

• Whether they like Asbury.  They will tell 3 people
• Whether they don't like Asbury.
• Indifferent

When someone comes to Asbury for the first time, an impression is made.  We do have a choice, however, in making that person's first impression a positive or negative one.  Your smile, your “Hello” and your helpful spirit will make that first impression a memorable one.  Make sure that you have eye contact and that you talk with them “Heart to Heart”.

Because it Balances out the BIG! 

God has blessed us with a huge facility.  To a first time guest, our facility can be overwhelming and intimidating.  When we fill the parking lot and the church with smiling faces, the building does not seem so big.

Because we can remove preconceptions!

Sometimes guests come to Asbury with man preconceptions such as, “This church is too big, I'll never find my way around.”  Or they might say, “This church is not very friendly.” Or “I'll never fit in.”  We can tear down those preconceptions and make a great first impression in the name of the Lord.  We want to create a climate that extends a warm welcome to everyone.

We also help people prepare for worship

Sometimes guests are greeted cheerfully and feel welcome and at home at Asbury, they are better prepared for worship.  The more preconceptions that we tear down before the guest enters the worship service, the more receptive and open they will be to God's message.
