Living Last Supper
Written in 1954 by Ernest K. Emurian, a Methodist minister serving a church in Virginia , this dramatization brings to life the famous painting of Leonardo da Vinci, “The Last Supper.” While Jesus and the disciples were at the table in the Upper Room, John 13:21 records that Jesus said, “ Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me.” Perplexed, the disciples began to look at one another. They were unable to comprehend which one He was implying would be the betrayer. Simon Peter gestured to him and said, “Tell us who it is of whom you are speaking.”
Witness and listen to the thoughts that may have been going through the disciple's minds as they seek to identify the traitor. Their inner-thoughts reveal their character and relationship to the Messiah as they pose the question to themselves, “Is It I? Is It I?”

From the producer
Having been a cast member in this dramatization at other churches in the past, I felt God's leading to bring this exciting experience to Asbury. I shared my vision with a close friend, and he got so excited about it that he wouldn't let me drop the idea. This ministry vision was shared with the mission team and pastoral staff at Asbury, and they gave us their full support. God's leading was affirmed when I contacted potential cast members, some whom I had never met before, and they all agreed to participate. You will witness God's wisdom and guidance as these men bring the apostles to life. This beautiful portrayal of the Last Supper is presented to challenge and inspire you to a closer walk with Jesus. I want to personally thank Mr. Phil Lee for directing, the entire cast & their families for their dedication and serving hearts, Ms. Lori Menikheim for directing the choir and orchestra, the Chancel Choir & Celebration Orchestra for bringing the disciples to life through the music, William Suit for writing and sharing the musical scores, and the production crew. As Asbury seeks to grow God's family and honor Christ Jesus in all we do, we pray this special presentation will draw you closer to the risen Christ as we celebrate this Easter season. At the conclusion of tonight's presentation, you will be invited to share in communion, which will be served by the disciples.
Blessings,
Vann R. Jones, Jerusalem Missions
