4th Grade Puppet Leaders – Plan and coordinate the 4 th Grade Puppet Team that meets on Sunday from 4:30 – 5:30 during the school year.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 12
Breakout Small Group Leaders - Lead a small group of 3 rd , 4 th , 5 th or 6 th graders on a Sunday evening during our children's Discipleship Program. Length of service: September 2006-May 2007. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 25+
Circle of Friends Small Group Leaders – Volunteers are needed for our Wednesday evening programs for Kindergarten-4 th graders. We will begin August and end in May. We do take school holidays. Little prep necessary, but must know how to love children and how to pray for them.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 10
Circle of Friends Station Leaders – Volunteers are needed for our Wednesday evening programs for Kindergarten-4 th graders. We will begin August and end in May. Station leaders lead and assist the children in snacks, games, crafts or mission projects. There is prep, but we will help you find what you need. This position requires someone who is fun and not afraid to speak in front of a group of 20 children. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 5
Children's Ministry Prayer Team - Pray for our children, volunteers and staff. We will meet together on a regular basis plus a commitment to pray at home. Length of commitment: one year. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Connecting with Friends Small Group Leaders - Lead a small group of 5 th or 6 th graders on Wednesday evenings from August 2006 until May 2007. Men in particular are encouraged to be a part of this ministry.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 8
Fall Sunday School Teachers and Helpers for Children 2 Years Old - 6 th Graders (Sept 06 –Nov 06) - It is a delight to teach our young children about God's love for them. Global Impact Celebration Children's Coordinators - Plan and coordinate the children's activities for the Global Impact Celebration for the last week in October. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Global Impact Celebration Children's Program Volunteers - Be part of a team of persons who will lead our children in their activities during the Global Impact Celebration the last week in October. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 12+
Kid's Quest Game/Craft Coordinators - These volunteers are responsible for preparing and obtaining supplies, executing crafts, or planning a game for a small class of 12 students during Sunday evening bible study from 5:30-6:00 from Sept. 10-May 6. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 3
Kid's Quest Snack Coordinators - These volunteers are responsible for setting up, taking money, and cleaning up for a snack supper for about 30 children on Sunday evenings from 5:15 to 6:30 from Sept. 10-May 6. The food will be at the church, so no cooking is involved. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Kid's Quest Small Group Leaders K-2 nd - These volunteers co-lead a small group of about 12 students during a 24 week bible study that lasts from Sept. 10-May 6. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 6
Nursery Caretakers for 9:00 or 10:30 Service - Volunteers for one Sunday each month to play and love children. Begin to show and tell the children at a young age about God's love. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 20
Preschool Circle of Friends Team - One Coordinator for the program and 8 helpers to assist in the areas of: Snack (2), Crafts (2), Story (1), and Arrival Time (3). Curriculum and easy to follow materials are provided for the program that meets on Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:30pm -7:30pm. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 9
Upward Coaches and Assistant Coaches - Lead children in devotions while teaching them the basic skills of basketball while showing them how to respect authority, team work and Bible Verses. Practices and games run from end of November 06 to mid February 07. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 88
Upward Referees - Show compassion to children while teaching them on the court the rules of the game and how “everyone is a winner”. Games run December 06- February 07. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 25
Upward Devotion Team Members - During half time for the Upward games give a 3-5 minute devotion to the parents of the players from December 06 – February 07. Many of these parents are not from Asbury.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 8
Upward Sound Board Team - Run the sound board on Friday nights or Saturday mornings for our games. You will announce the children's name as they enter the court from December 06 – February 07.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 5
Wee Worship Team Leaders - Openings in 10:30 Wee Worship Service to assist with team recruitment and retention. Receive ongoing support and teaching materials from the Children's Ministry Coordinator. Leaders will be in charge of delegating projects, crafts, puppet time and Bible story duties to other team members. Each leader will serve for one month then off for three. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 4
Wee Worship Activity Team Members – Members work with the Wee Worship Team Leader and have support from the Children's Ministry Coordinator. They will work on a team of 15 people and use provided curriculum to teach 3, 4 or 5 year olds. Each team member will do one of the following: arrival activities, snack, crafts, puppet time, or Bible story. Each team member will serve for one month then off for three months. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 60

Intercessors for Wednesday Night Prayer Chapel - Intercede during Wednesday night Fathom service. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Sunday Night Prayer Leader - Adult to facilitate the prayer team on Sunday Nights 6-6:30. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
Sunday Night Small Group Leaders - Facilitate a small group of youth with another leader. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 10

Jerusalem ( Madison ) Mission Team Leader - Must have a heart for serving others, have organizational skills and a giftiin administration. Commitment is for approximately 8 hours per month, and for 3 years duration.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
United Methodists Children's Home Coordinator -Develop the United Methodist Children's Home ministry in North Alabama . 1 person needed an hour or two at a time for 8 hours per month. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
Meals on Wheels Team - Deliver food to homebound elderly on Tuesdays. Once or Twice a month; 3 to 4 hours. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Welcome Team – Volunteers would help visitors in one of the following areas: A) Greet visitors at one of the church entrances. B) Assist visitors at one of the Visitor Information Areas or C) Guide visitors that park in the Visitor Parking Lots. Volunteers will serve between one of the church services on Sunday morning one Sunday per month. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Celebration Orchestra Members - The Celebration Orchestra welcomes all instrumentalists and currently needs a French horn, additional string and low brass players. The orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm beginning August 23, in the Sanctuary. Celebration Orchestra plays on Sunday mornings and in seasonal programs. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Chancel Choir Members - Chancel Choir welcomes members who want to glorify God through music. The Chancel Choir sings on Sunday mornings in traditional worship and at seasonal programs. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the choir room. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Children's Choir Assistant Director (August 06 – May 06) - Assistant Directors to help with our 3 year old choir. Children's Choir Assistant Directors need to have at least moderate musical abilities. The commitment is for one school year (August through May) and includes Wednesday night rehearsals and occasional opportunities for the choir to sing in Wednesday night worship. Rehearsals will begin August 23 rd . Training is available.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1 or 2
Children's Choir Pianist - We are looking for a pianist to work with a children's choir. Children's Choir Pianists need to have moderate to advanced piano skills and a love for children and music. The commitment is for one school year (August through May) and includes Wednesday night rehearsals and occasional opportunities for the choir to sing in worship. Rehearsals will begin August 23 rd . # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
Choir Members - This new choir welcomes members who want to glorify God through music. The new choir sings on Sunday mornings in 10:30 traditional worship. It will be a spirited, uplifting choir of individuals raising their voices to God in a mighty way. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm beginning August 9, in the choir room. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Drummer (Conga) - Volunteers would accompany hymns and responses in the 10:30 Traditional Service. 1.5 hours weekly . # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Percussionists - Volunteers would accompany the new choir during the 10:30 Traditional Service on various percussion toys from congas to cabasas. 2 hours weekly. # OR OPPORTUNITIES: 3
Youth Choir Sectional Assistants - The youth choirs are looking for people who have a passion for music and youth to help with rehearsals. Includes singing with a section (ex. Altos) in order to help them learn their notes and some crowd control. Rehearsals will begin August 27 th . # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 4+
Youth Choir Substitute Accompanist - C.H.R.I.S.T. Choir and Voices of Christ need substitute accompanists who can be available on Sunday mornings or afternoons when the accompanist is not able to come to choir. This person needs to have moderate to advanced piano skills and a flexible schedule on Sundays. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2 – 3
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FOR MUSIC
Chancel Choir Administrative Assistant – This person would help to prepare music for weekly Chancel Choir rehearsals, work in the music library and assist with periodic mailings. This position does not require any musical knowledge, but is very important to the smooth operation of the choir. 2-4 Hours weekly.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
Youth Choir Administrative Assistants - C.H.R.I.S.T. Choir and Voices of Christ are looking for people to help with administrative tasks such as role, email, choir tour paperwork, etc. This position does not require any musical knowledge, but is very important to the smooth operation of the choir. The Administrative Assistant will need to attend rehearsals on Sunday afternoons. All other work can be done from home. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2 – 4
Youth Orchestra Administrative Assistant – Youth Orchestra is looking for someone to help with administrative tasks such as emailing, sending birthday cards, etc. This position does not require any musical knowledge, but is very important to the smooth operation of the orchestra. The Administrative Assistant will need to attend rehearsals on Sunday afternoons. All other work can be done from home. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
MEMBER DEVELOPMENT/VOLUNTEER SERVICES
New Member Follow-Up Team –Once a new member is visited by the visitation team it will be determined if a follow-up is needed. This team will do follow up with new members for an additional 60 days to make sure they are getting connected with the church. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 5
New Member Follow-Up Team Leader – Will coordinate the New Member Follow-Up Team to make sure that new members are being contacted.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
New Member Photograph Team - Volunteers will process digital pictures that are taken each Sunday of new members that join the church. The new member information will be copied and pictures will be prepared for display on the NEW MEMBER bulletin board and the photograph will be imported into the church database. Must be available during normal business hours for 1-2 hours per month. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 4

Camera & Welcoming Team for New Members – Greet, take pictures, and give a Welcome Package to new members at the 7:30am Contemporary or 9:00am Contemporary Service. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 3
Asbury Connect Team - Asbury has a number of members who are not able to fellowship at the church on a regular basis. Volunteers are assigned an individual to make visits, send cards, make phone calls and provide other care as needed. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Congregational Care Leader- To keep committee heads in the various ministries under Congregational Care informed of all needs and to keep everyone connected. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 1
Hospital Visitation Team – These volunteers need to have compassion for family and the sick in the hospital. It would include visitation at the hospital with either patient or family. Other duties could include finding out other needs of the family. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Stephen Ministers - Volunteers who desire to serve the Lord by “bearing one another's burdens”. There will be specialized training for people with gifts of caring and faith. These gifts are put to use in an organized way to bring Jesus' love and care to others going through difficult times or life crises. Training is being scheduled for 2007. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
Sunday School Teachers for the 10:30am College/Career Class - Teachers to rotate every 4 -8 weeks and lead the class on different topics of study. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 5
Transportation Team - Volunteers to drive our members to church, doctor visits, or other activities as needed. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Power Point Operators - (IMMEDIATE NEED!) - Operators for Wednesday night worship to run the presentation in the Sanctuary.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: 4
Power Point Creation and Operator Team (IMMEDIATE NEED!) – Create and run the Power Point presentation for the 4 th AND/OR 5 TH Sunday of each month for the 10:30 Service. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: 2
Worship Designers - Creative individuals to help design and prepare visual worship areas for traditional worship. Times are flexible.# OF OPPORTUNITIES: SEVERAL
Ushers – Need volunteers for all the Worship Services to serve for a month/ 3-4 times per year. # OF OPPORTUNITIES: UNLIMITED
