Fourth Watch is a praise and worship band that was formed in 2001 specifically to lead worship for the Asbury Youth worship service named “Impact” every Wednesday night and the powerful “back to school” retreat every fall. The songs that the band played were chosen based on their appeal and impact to today's youth and came from such artists as Skillet, Tree63, Newsboys, DC Talk, Delirious, Third Day, and Audio Adrenaline. The name “Fourth Watch” comes from Matthew 14:25; “And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea” reminding us that Jesus comes to save us in our darkest hour. In 2002, Fourth Watch became one of the rotation bands for the Asbury Contemporary Worship on Sunday mornings. While we have expanded our song choices to include artists such as Chris Tomlin, Dave Crowder, Big Daddy Weave, Jeremy Camp and Todd Agnew, we also continue to expand a repertoire of edgy and upbeat songs. We have had a few member changes thru the 6 years of our existence and our current members include:
Heather Allen is the newest member of the band. She sings lead vocals, harmonies, and plays an occasional tambourine
Mike Botts is the bass player of the band.
David Brock plays acoustic guitar and sings lead vocals. He also plays electric rhythm guitar
Chris Lund plays the drums.
Tom Stinson plays keyboards, acoustic guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals
Drew Westrope plays lead electric guitar and lead acoustic guitar
Melanie Stinson develops charts for the projected lyrics
