Asbury Mission Team Area: Ends of the Earth

Bryan and Beth Tatum have been called to serve as house parents in The Costa Rica Methodist Children’s Home.  The home is in the process of being prepared and is located northeast of San Jose, Costa Rica in the town of Coronado.  They are currently visiting churches, Sunday school classes as well as other organizations to share God’s plan for the Children’s Home as well as building a team of prayer and support.

God’s combining the Tatum’s love of children with their passion for missions have been a natural progression for their partnering in The Costa Rica Methodist Children’s Home.  Bryan and Beth, as previous owners of The Elf Shelf Toy Stores, have always had a passion for children.  Beth serves as Assistant Director of Children's Ministries at Asbury and Bryan is involved in coaching, teaching as well as other church activities. 

“We have tried to not ask God what His plan is.  We have really just prayed for God to reveal to us Who He is.  By praying in this manner, God has confirmed His call through many different ways.  That confirmation has come from others within the Church, from pastors, from other missionaries, from prophetic ministry, from certain Bible studies and the list just keeps growing.  As we prayed for God to reveal Himself to us, He provided us with confirmation of His call. He has provided us with the covering and protection of our church, our pastors, our Mission’s Department, the Mission Society, our relationships with Bishop Palomo and Ray & Lidia Zirkel in Costa Rica and many others. He has provided us with an awesome prayer team.  He has provided us with a peace about this process. He has provided financial resources as every need has arisen.”
