Annie Wang
Asbury Mission Team Area: Ends of the Earth
Annie introduced Asbury to a “hidden ministry,” formed according to the verse, Genesis 2:11-12 (ESV): “The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.” It is multifaceted, involving children’s ministry, charity and cultural exchange between the U.S., New Zealand and China. The purpose of this ministry is to increase and enhance the influence of Christianity through these channels. The methods involve leading Chinese children to Christ through life exchange activities, spreading the Gospel among the “intellectuals” through cultural exchange and supporting the fast-growing Chinese church with training seminars. Annie has a deep desire to work with orphans in China, and other groups that could be categorized as “the least of these.” Many opportunities exist for Asbury to join in this exciting work.
“I share my burden for China wherever I go. I shared at churches when I preached, or shared with Kiwi pastors or prayer groups. It is developed from one church to a few churches though prayer and sharing. Now, I was called to develop this organization…so that I could gather many people and various sources in the Kingdom of God to carry this big burden together for China.” – Annie
“I have prayed for the burden of orphans in Anhui since 2006 when I returned home from the mission field. God provided me a journey to the U.S. in January, 2007. It was arranged for me to go to Alabama to share my burden with Asbury church. The Lord also gave them the same burden for the orphans in China. So, we went to China together to meet the orphans and pray to develop more caring and mercy ministry for the poor and homeless.” – Annie
“If God lays some burden on our heart, we don’t have to be an ordained minister. But it is important that the church prays for us, and participate in the mission work we are called to do.”—Annie
